Sozopol

Sozopol itself is situated on a rocky headland just south of Bourgas. It's still a favourite destination for many Bulgarians wishing to avoid the busier resorts further north. It's also becoming popular with Scandanavian and Russian tourists. It boasts two fabulous beaches and good selection of shops and plenty of restaurants, many specialising in the fish caught by the fishermen of the town.

Cars are restricted from entering the town centre during the summer, and although much quieter than other resorts, there is a wonderful ten day music festival in September.

When we first visited in June, the temperature was in the mid thirties, but with welcome and refreshing breeze from the sea.

The area looks tranquil with beautiful scenery. Well done to you both for thoroughly researching, getting there early and buying the best view. We're watching your progress and ready to book flights. Alison
